Meet AMA-CON 2016 Vendor Henry Melton of Wire Rim Books

Henry Melton of Wire Rim Books

Henry Melton is science fiction writer pursuing the independent publishing course under his imprint Wire Rim Books.  With over twenty titles, many award-winning, ranging from a light children’s book to world catastrophe novels, he is growing a a fan base the old fashioned way, meeting people face to face at a growing number of book events, science fiction conventions and popular media events.

Henry has been writing science fiction for the magazines and anthologies since the 70s but during the past decade or so, has been concentrating on novels under his own imprint.  As a dedicated traveler, he has all the states, most of Canada, as well as a few visits to Europe and Africa to draw on.  Often inspired by the places he visits, a number of his books fall under the Small Towns Big Ideas umbrella.  These young adult novels typically feature a high school aged protagonist who encounters something out of the ordinary, and is forced to solve the problem.

Starting in 2011, Henry began a large scale effort The Project Saga.  Begun first as short stories back in the 70s, this shared history tale currently includes half a dozen novels and one hybrid novel that includes all the short stories previously published embedded in a new story line.  It is only half done, but begins with Star Time, the current day starting point, which branches off into Tales of the Recovery of Earth and separately, the U’tanse Series, revealing a new fragment of humanity born as slaves on another planet, but gifted with extraordinary talents.
