Meet AMA-CON 2017 Vendor/Author Kat Stiles

Kat Stiles is a fabulous indie author writing YA Paranormal Romance, Adult Paranormal, and sometimes Horror.  Her debut novel Connected, is the story of three teens who discover they have super powers and must work together to fight a telepathic serial killer. Book 2 of the series, Imminence, is set to be released in early August. She lives in Wellington TX with her two children and her man, and a ridiculous number of cats and dogs. When she’s not writing, reading, or databasing, she’s busy not taking life seriously. 🙂

Meet AMA-CON Artist Karen Clemmons

Karen Clemmons has been a professional graphic designer for over a decade with an eye for detail and craftsmanship.

Karen recently joined the world of pop culture and comics with her business that combines her skills as a graphic designer with handmade quality and charm by crafting handmade custom wands and what she calls “Super Letters” as well as handmade pop culture bottle cap lapel pins great for backpacks and caps too!

Karen has a wide selection of wands, letters and pins at several shows in the Amarillo area and invites special orders if you don’t see something that you like at her table! You can order custom merchandise at conventions or through her website at as well.

Meet AMA-CON 2017 Special Guests The 501st Legion

Since 1997, the 501st Legion has been dedicated to re-creating film-quality costumes of the “villainous” characters of the Star Wars galaxy and entertaining Star Wars fans with our public appearances. Over the past twenty years, the 501st has become a leading force in fan-based charity events around the world. Members of the Legion have heightened awareness at promotional events, helped to raise millions of dollars for charity, and spread the magic of Star Wars to fans of all ages.

The 501st Legion, sometimes called by its nickname “Vader’s Fist,” is made up entirely of volunteers, and each of our members has spent months and sometimes even years researching and constructing their costumes. With over 10,000 approved members worldwide, our costumes include just about every “bad guy” in the Star Wars galaxy… Sith Lords like Darth Vader and Darth Maul; nefarious bounty hunters like Boba Fett and Greedo; hostile aliens like Tusken Raiders and Gamorrean Guards; and of course, the soldiers of the evil Galactic Empire: Clone Troopers, Sandtroopers, TIE Fighter Pilots, Biker Scouts, and the ever-popular, nameless, faceless Stormtroopers that are a universal symbol of Imperial might!

Meet AMA-CON 2017 Special Guest A. G. Howard

International and NYT best-selling author, Anita Grace Howard, lives in the Texas panhandle. She is most at home weaving the melancholy and macabre into settings and scenes, twisting the expected into the unexpected. She’s inspired by all things flawed, utilizing the complex loveliness of human conditions and raw emotions to give her characters life, then turning their world upside down so the reader’s blood will race.

Married and mother of two teens (as well as surrogate mom to two Guinea pigs and one Labrador retriever), Anita divides her days between spending time with her family and plodding along or plotting on her next book.

When she’s not writing, Anita enjoys rollerblading, biking, snow skiing, gardening, and family vacations that at any given time might include an impromptu side trip to an 18th century graveyard or a condemned schoolhouse for photo ops.

At this year’s AMA-CON, she’ll be participating in the panel, “Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of Men: Moral Choices and Character Development” with Patrick Rothfuss and Rachel Caine–moderated by WTAMU Literature professor, Dr. Monica Smith Hart–and signing copies of her latest books!
