Book 2 of the series, Imminence, is set to be released in early August. She lives in Wellington TX with her two children and her man, and a ridiculous number of cats and dogs. Libbi Duncan is a local author, English teacher, and US Army veteran. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages. When she’s not reading or writing, she enjoys hiking, camping, painting, playing video games, cosplaying, and traveling. Ms. Duncan’s debut novel, “The Scorching,” was published this year, and she is currently working on a sequel.
The story follows Madi, a teenager from a lunar colony, as she journeys to a post-apocalyptic Earth in search of her missing parents. Madi lands on the abandoned planet expecting to find a barren wasteland, but instead discovers a garden paradise and a war that will change everything.
Ms. Duncan will present “Power: The Rise of Women in Pop-Culture” and two book signings at AMA-CON 2017. The panel will cover classic leading ladies, modern heroines, and examples from “The Scorching.” Ms. Duncan will also be reading an excerpt from her book and taking questions on writing, editing, publishing, or books and movies in general.
